Can anyone say baked pork chop casserole? Super easy, very tasty, a complete meal all in one dish. Well, don’t just say it, make it for your family today. To say its mouthwatering would be an understatement.

My dad Joey Romano used to make this delectable dish when we were growing up and it was a family fovorite for sure!! It is always so nice to have a entire meal in one pot! Of course a salad on the side is a always a nice addition to any meal. Check out salad section for a few different options.

The pork chop casserole recipe can be doubled for large family!

Baked Pork Chop Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 pork chops
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sage
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 cup dry sherry
  • 4 medium size red potatoes, sliced
  • ½ small onion, sliced
  • ¾ cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

  1. Sprinkle pork chop with sage and salt and pepper.
  2. Brown both sides of chops in fry pan in hot oil.
  3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  4. Melt butter in oven safe casserole dish.
  5. Whisk in flour and sherry.
  6. Place half of porkchops in bottom of dish.
  7. Layer potatoes, onions and mushrooms.
  8. Place remaining pork chops on top.
  9. Whisk soup, water and cream together, pour on top of casserole.
  10. Place covered casserole in oven and bake for 45 minutes.
  11. Spread frozen peas on top, place uncovered back in oven for 10-15 minutes or until peas are heated through.

Cook Time: 55-60 minutes
